What are Denali Green Tags? Each Green Tag is a carbon offset that represents the environmental attributes - principally displaced greenhouse gas and other polluting emissions - associated with the generation of one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity from qualifying renewable resources. How It Works: Climbers purchase Denali Green Tags to offset their carbon footprint from transportation such as driving or flying. For each Denali Green Tag purchased, a unique Tag Number affiliated with your email address is entered into a compilation list for an end of the year Raffle. Once a year in January, Climb Green selects numbers for free gear. You could win cool stuff!! Denali Green Tags are a program of the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a nonprofit with the dual mission to restore damaged watersheds and to increase the development of renewable sources of power. The Foundation partners with the Renewable Energy Alaska Project to help develop renewable energy source in Alaska. Each Green Tag can be purchased online at www.DenaliGreenTags.org for $20 each (minimum purchase of two Green Tags per order). Because BEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, you may designate your purchase as a tax-deductible contribution. Consult your tax advisor for more information.
